Description:
Fire Bricks are a special type of brick that can handle extreme temperatures and act as insulation. They are used as a lining in the interior of foundry furnaces and heat treating ovens to keep in the intense heat.
These are soft bricks that can be cut with a hacksaw to form smaller bricks or to add channels for heating elements. They can be drilled with a hole saw to create an opening for a gas burner or electrical feed-thrus. The bricks can handle up to 2300 Degrees F. which makes them suitable for use in furnaces to melt aluminum and brass and in heat treat ovens for steel.
Each brick is 9" x 4-1/2" x 2-1/2"
Here's the technical data sheet The type in the data sheet to look at is the "K-23". This sheet is representative only. We source bricks from many vendors to get you the lowest price.
ABOUT BRICK PRICES: Don't be misled by brick pricing on other web sites! Their prices may seem low, but check their shipping and handling charges. A recent check of a competitor showed a brick price of $3.35. I checked the price for 10 bricks and it totaled $33.50. Not bad. But upon ordering you will be sent an email saying that they have added $36.05 for Shipping and $15 for Packaging! This makes the actual order total $84.55, or $8.46 per brick!
BCS doesn't add any sneaky shipping or handling charges. What you see is what you pay.
