International Technical Ceramics Coatings

Description:
- ITC-100 HT Ceramic Coating is a versatile high temperature coating
that has proven to achieve outstanding energy savings and refractory
protection. Use it alone or as a base coat for other ITC
products. It is used as a covering for ceramic fiber insulation or
castable refractory. This material reflects radiant heat back into the
furnace or forge to achieve high temperatures quickly and efficiently.
- ITC 200 EZ Ceramic Fill is a durable compound used to repair
broken, chipped or cracked brick, castable or fiber material (such as Kaowool or Fiberfrax). Bonds rapidly and eliminates need for costly
re-bricking. Repairs old equipment economically and efficiently.
- ITC 213 Ceramic Coating for Metals. This is an outstanding
product especially formulated to protect metals and graphite, including
those directly in contact with molten metal. It helps to prevent stainless
steel and steel parts from erosion, oxidation and fatigue from prolonged
use. Use also to repair damaged areas. (This material is a long
lasting coating for your steel pipe crucibles!)
- ITC 296A Ceramic Top Coating is a high purity ceramic top coating
that resists deposits from firing gasses and from contact with molten
metals. Increases energy efficiency by reflecting heat back into the
furnace or back into the melt. Helps to reduce contamination of
subsequent firings from the by products of the previous heats. This
material is applied over the base coat of ITC-100, ITC-200EZ or ITC-213.
How To Use It:
- ITC-100 HT Ceramic Coating: Preparation: Prepare the
surface by removing all loose and weakened fiber, bricks, debris, particles,
dust and grease from interior walls, door, crown, floor and grooves behind
electrical elements. Immediately before applying ITC 100, dampen these
areas by spraying lightly with water. Mixing: Mix to one pint of ITC
100 1/2 pint of water and mix well. Applying: Spraying is the
best method of application. For small applications a brush can be
used. Coverage: A gallon will cover 50 to 100 square feet, and a pint
will cover approximately 6 to 12 square feet.
- ITC 200 EZ Preparation: Apply ITC 100 HT as a base
coat. Applying: Immediately after application of
ITC 100 HT, using a spatula or similar tool, fill all cracks, holes,
crevices and damaged areas with the ITC 200. Allow to air dry before
firing.
- ITC 213: Preparation: Prepare the surface by removing all
loose rust layers, grease, dirt and molten metal build-up. If possible
roughen the surface to be coated by using a file or hacksaw blade.
Sandblasting is NOT recommended. Wash surface with a 1:1 solution of
liquid Clorox bleach and water. Applying: Mix
coating thoroughly. The best results are obtained by using a paint
edger or a piece of cloth dipped into the ITC 213 and then vigorously
rubbing the coating onto the surface as thinly as possible. Coverage: 150 to 250 sq feet per
gallon, or a pint will cover 18 to 31 square feet.
- ITC 296A: Preparation: Apply other ITC-products as
appropriate. The 296A is always the final coat applied. Fire
previous materials to full operating temperature. Applying: Thin
the material by adding 1/2 a pint of water to a pint of 296A. Mix thoroughly.
Apply the 296A with a sprayer or by brush. Allow to air dry and then fire to
operating temperature. Coverage: 100 to 200 sq feet per
gallon, a pint will cover 12 to 20 square feet.
WARNING: Do NOT apply any surface
coatings, such as ITC-100 or ITC-100 coated ceramic fiber blankets over refractory cement until
the refractory cement has been cured and fired. Sealing the cement surface
before it has been fully fired once has caused steam explosions!!
